I’m back in Springfield for the final week of the 2026 Spring Legislative Session, and I expect a very busy week with long days ahead, as there is still a lot of legislation to address before the May 31 deadline.
The top item on the agenda this week is Governor Pritzker’s record-breaking $56 billion budget proposal, the largest in Illinois history. Even worse, this budget proposal relies on $700 Million in NEW taxes to support even more government spending.
I will be a strong NO vote on any budget that includes tax increases and more government spending. Illinoisans deserve a state government that can live within its means, not one that raises taxes year after year to fund the out-of-control spending.
Stay tuned for more updates throughout the week.
