RED BUD, IL – State Representative David Friess is pleased to announce that the Illinois Secretary of
State’s Mobile Driver Services Unit will return to Red Bud for three events in 2026. Additionally, Rep.
Friess will host two events in Murphysboro this year. The mobile DMV will be set up at Red Bud City Hall
for the Red Bud events and at the Davis-McCann Center in Murphysboro, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
on the following dates:
● March 11, 2026 (Murphysboro)
● March 17, 2026 (Red Bud)
● May 5, 2026 (Red Bud)
● August 4, 2026 (Red Bud)
● August 12, 2026 (Murphysboro)
Along with General Assembly staff, representatives from the Secretary of State’s office will be available
to assist with renewing or correcting driver’s licenses, converting existing standard driver’s licenses into
REAL ID licenses, obtaining renewed or first-time State IDs or REAL IDs, issuing free IDs for seniors aged
65 or older, and purchasing license plate stickers.
Attendees will also have the chance to register as organ and tissue donors and to register to vote while
applying for or renewing a driver’s license or ID.

2026,” said Rep. Friess. “These events make it easier for residents across my district to access essential
DMV services close to home. I encourage everyone to take advantage of this convenient opportunity.”
Constituents must call Rep. Friess’ district office to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins will not be
accepted. Residents are encouraged to review the list of acceptable documents needed for first-time IDs
and REAL IDs at www.ilsos.gov.
