We’ll also take a look at the new digital licensure process announced by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, which aims to make professional licensing easier and more efficient. Rep. Friess Seeking Mentees for his 2024 Women’s Leadership Initiative
Red Bud, IL…State Representative David Friess is seeking mentees for his Women’s Leadership Initiative, a mentorship program geared at nurturing and developing future female leaders in the community. This program offers valuable opportunities for personal and professional growth. The mission of our program is to educate, inspire, and empower the next generation of female leaders with the core values, attitudes, and skills that are the foundation of quality leadership.
“We are excited about the opportunities this session of the Women’s Leadership Initiative will bring to all its participants,” said Rep. Friess. “This experience helps each mentee learn more about themselves and fosters growth in their career path. The guidance provided by our Mentors will empower the Mentees to excel as they become our future leaders.”
Female students are eligible for participation in the Women’s Leadership Initiative if they:
- Have a referral from their Principal or School Administration.
- Are enrolled as a Junior or Senior in an area High School or enrolled in an area College or University.
- Have a cumulative grade-point average of 2.75 or higher.
The ideal applicant for the Women’s Leadership Initiative will:
- Be open to change.
- Be willing to engage in deep reflection-learning about yourself and others.
- Be committed to learning about leadership, developing leadership skills, and practicing those skills.
- Be goal-oriented and possess excellent organizational skills.
- Commit to scheduled time with your mentor for guidance and development.

DFPR Announces Plans for New Digital Licensure Process for Working Professionals in Illinois
The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation has reached an agreement to secure a new professional licensing system for individuals whose careers require a license to work in Illinois.
With a focus on increased government transparency, the new licensing system will feature a user-friendly interface with improved communications and creates a streamlined review of license applications and fees. Prospective licensees will be notified electronically when applications are received, reviewed, and licenses are issued by the Department.
IDFPR will announce the next steps related to the new licensing system as they become available. More information about professional licensing in Illinois may be found on IDFPR’s website: idfpr.illinois.gov.
