Red Bud, IL…State Representative David Friess’ Women’s Leadership Initiative, in collaboration with various community organizations, organized a community work day on Saturday, April 20th. They held the event to foster community spirit and demonstrate the importance of giving back.
“This event was not just about painting park fixtures; it was about bringing our youth together and instilling in them the value of serving their community,” Rep. Friess said. “I’m immensely proud of the enthusiasm and dedication shown by all the volunteers. I want to give a shout out to my District Director, Cathy Dupertuis, for all of her hard work in organizing this event. I’m very grateful for her work and vision for our Women’s Leadership Initiative!”
Volunteers from the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, FFA, Beta Club, and young women aspiring to be future leaders in the community joined hands to beautify Lincoln Park. Their collective efforts resulted in the painting of 75 parking stops, 65 parking posts, and the GaGa game pit.
The Women’s Leadership Initiative, under the leadership of Rep. Friess, remains committed to organizing similar events in the future, fostering a culture of community engagement and empowerment.
As a token of appreciation for their hard work, Rep. Friess provided pizza to all the volunteers at the end of the service day.
