State Representative David Friess is proud to acknowledge the Illinois Sheriff’s Association (ISA) for its unwavering commitment to education through the continuation of the College Scholarship Program. Since its inception in 1979, the ISA’s scholarship initiative has provided financial support to college-bound students, recognizing their exceptional scholastic achievements, extra-curricular involvement, and outstanding character.
The ISA’s College Scholarship Program offers scholarships ranging from $500 to $1000, demonstrating the association’s dedication to fostering academic excellence and character development among Illinois students. This program serves as a testament to the ISA’s ongoing efforts to invest in the future of the state by supporting the educational pursuits of promising young individuals.
One notable feature of the scholarship program is its widespread impact across Illinois counties. As part of the ISA membership program, each participating county contributes to the initiative by awarding at least one $500 scholarship every school year. This collaborative approach ensures that students from various regions of the state have access to educational opportunities, contributing to a more equitable distribution of resources.
Rep. Friess commented on the significance of the ISA’s commitment to education, stating, “I commend the Illinois Sheriff’s Association for its longstanding dedication to empowering the next generation through the College Scholarship Program. By investing in the academic and personal development of our students, the ISA is playing a crucial role in shaping the future of Illinois. This initiative not only supports deserving individuals but also reflects the association’s commitment to community welfare and the pursuit of excellence.”
The scholarship program is open to Illinois students attending higher learning institutions within the state, providing a valuable resource for those seeking to further their education.
